I've got an OTAL mounted on top a SIR on my Colt Sporter. It sits up a little too high and really can't see my front sight post. I also want to move my EOTech farther forward. Anyone have their OTAL or other laser device mounted on a side rail. The military mounts PEQ2s on the side sometimes. Here's a pic of what I have. (obviously the EOTech sits too high to allow co-witness but that doesn't bother me now)

hmm sometimes my pics show up and sometimes they don't. anyways I went ahead and mounted it on the side of my SIR. I think it's gonna be okay there plus I got to move my EOTech farther forward. What's a good range to sight in a laser? I'm thinking maybe 20-30 yds. P.S. nice piece of hardware you have there 1001001.
