Anyone has experience with this new tactical/laser combo?
Is the laser of any use or is it just a gadget?

Thank you for your comments.

I have one on my G19.  I think that, for us non-tactical users, it's great on a bedside gun.  The light lets you identify/blind a target, and the laser is good if you're in an awkward position and can't use the sights.  (It doesn't take much imagination how this could happen if you are awoken in the middle of the night.)

I bought one a while back because it's so compact and it's works great.  The actual light is of course much more useful than the laser but I just figured, what the hell, I'll get the laser so I don't regret it later.

We T&Ed one for use with ballistic shield, where sight acquistion can be problematic at best.

The laser was dang near useless, as I suspect it would be on most handguns. For the first shot, it is fine, though acquistion tended to be a little slow but any follow-ups, especially if you didn't practice good recoil control, are an exercise in finding the danged laser dot, then aligning it, then applying a good trigger press. Nobody could develop any real confidence in it beyone one shot, and we decided to stick with the tried-and-true methods.

It might be a little different if you were cowitnessing it with your sights or at really close ranges, but in those situations, you are better off using the sights or point shooting, anyhow, and not hunting for the dot.
