I would like to mount a Surefire G2 flash light under my AR. Does anyone know the body diameter?
I know the bezel is 1.25", but it would like to mount it in a cheap 1" scope ring. Could someboby please measure the body size? Thankyou.

G2 = $28 from gandrtactical.com/C4iGrant and I got a nice scope ring from Wal-Mart for $6.

That will be the std. reply from SF, however, here's the way I see it -

Not everyone can afford a dedicated weaponslight right from the start, so, is the answer to go without??  No, I don't think so.  There are options that will you get you by until you can afford such a system.  Though I like to see people have every possible safeguard you know that having a light vs. no light at all is certainly a benefit and a safeguard itself. You can also gain a lot of experience about what suits your needs, what is comfortable, and what you want when you have the money for a true weapons system.

Using the G2 Nitrolon as an example: It will give you all the output of what other basic 6v weapons systems will but at a fraction of the cost.  You can also make additions to it to increase performance and function.  Any money spent on it is not really a bad investment because in the end you have to admit you at least have an excellent flashlight.
