This isn't an AR15 question, but y'all seem a hell of a lot more informed about lights and mounting systems that I've seen anywhere else on the net.

Here's my problem.  I want to mount a flashlight on my scope tube.  This is a Steyr Scout rifle and there is an accessory rail on the bottom of the stock, but it interferes with the sling.  I just want to be able to clamp a basic Surefire on the scout scope, but everything seems to require a Picatinny rail.

You might be able to go with this side mount adapter on your bottom rail.

Actually the bottom rail isn't a picatinny (sp?) but a slot that Steyr calls a UIT rail.  

However... the Warne site you linked to does have something interesting.  That side mount they have looks like it might work.  The Scout rifle has a Pica rail on the top, but only has 4 slots front and rear.  The Warne side mount looks thin enough to fit under the scout scope.
