I was thinking of JB Welding a Photon Microlight to a set of standard handguards.

Well I guess you were actually serious then eh? Sorry for the jab. All Photons but the III with the covert shield can be viewed from greater then 180 degrees because they are exposed and not recessed in any way. This means prety much anyone who is not directly behind you will see that LED light up when you activate it. The red Photon is noy even bright enough for me to walk in the dark with. White, Green and Blue are all much better. The problem with the Photon III is that it has complicated switching for pulsing and all kinds of useless crap. The last thing you want is to have a strobe light going off when your trying to be discreet. I wouldnt reccomend the light. Not to mention they are not very robust with exposed LEDs and thn plastic bodies. I would look into some of the AAA powered LED lights.
