Does the Surefire M500 bottom handguard have, or allow for, a weaver rail? I want to use this system but also wanted to mount a handle or laser on the bottom handguard. Thanks.

This thread might answer your questions. In short, there is no rail on the bottom handguard, but it is possible to mount one or a forward grip with a little ingenuity.

Do you have this system? If so, what is that unusual square bulge on the forward end of the bottom handguard? are there wires or something in there? That would be a good place to mount a mini rail for a grip handle it seems like.

Everything you need to work a Surefire M500 is in the upper half. If you dont want to use the lower half, dont. Just use your standard lower handguard.

Keep in mind that the M500 has the activation switch that is meant to be squeezed on the side of the upper handguard.  You can't be holding a vertical grip and activating the light at the same time.  Just something to think about.  Watch-Six
