Greetings.

I recently purchased Brownell's part number 160-000-352WB. The the Colt tactical sling mount.

I've read that some have had trouble with the installation process; specifically with wobble.

I've read that some folks have used gasket sealant and vise grips during the installation process.

So my questions are:

Is applying gasket sealant on the contact point with the barrel advisable? If so, what product should be used?

Would this conflict with applying CLP on the contact point with the barrel, and is applying CLP there advisable?

Is it necessary or beneficial to use vise grips during the installation process to ensure a tight fit?

Appreciate your time.

I know nothing about installing one yourself but the one on my 6920 was loose enough to slide back and forth and rotate slighty. I kept it lubed and had no problems with it.

When I get one for my other carbine, thanks for the Brownell's part number btw, I won't lose any sleep if it's a bit loose.

Welcome to arf too!

A bit late....

I switched a couple Colt sling mounts over for some of our lefties.  If there was any play at all I stuck a piece of old inner tube underneath.  You might not need to completely cover the barrel, sometimes a half wrap was fine.
