Look in the EE, stay away from Condor, Drago, VooDoo....Bing WRBSS in Gun Barrel Texas

Even though they are made offshore, 5.11 can be found for a few dollars more than your price.  For an overseas product, 5.11 is really made well

Try Shooting Systems, in Missouri. Possibly called Elite Survival now

Just curious, what's the reason to stay away from VooDoo? I've had one of their rifles cases for years and think it does a very good job. Other than having a few too many buckles, I can't see any reason to avoid it. It's proven to be durable and a good protector of my rifles. Id buy another...

Might sound crazy, but I just picked up this Fieldline Tactical 43" Cobra Gun Case from Walmart:

For $35 it is every bit as nice as the more expensive versions.  Very very very pleased!!!

The guys I work with use VooDoo back packs to carry tools and cameras around for pipe and tank inspection, not real heavy duty stuff, and they can't keep back packs for more than three months before needing a new one,  I am basing by comment on this experience only.  The other two I mentioned I have personal experience with, both raveling seams, busted zippers.

The best cases and tactical nylon I have owned and currently own are I-Shot and Eagle Industries.  I-Shot I believe announced on their website will cease selling to the public and as far as EI is concerned, who knows where they stand, used to be able to find everywhere but they have changed their marketing strategy for other directions.

I made these comments based on my experience and observations only. Not just some random comments on what I have heard.  The biggest waste of money I ever made was on a Condor case.   I don't mean to offend, just stating what I have seen and experienced.  If your case works for your, then that is fantastic,  and for the most part theses cases may work.   Like most of us here on this site, I have a lot of money invested in my rifles, spending a lot of money for a good case does not phase me.  I just found First Spear on the Internet, they look promising.  Also, Eberlestock looks to make a great case also, but then you are looking at $300 case here.

My EDC back pack is a 5.11 Moab 10, been using everyday for almost a year now, looks brand new.  I don't abuse it, but I don't baby it either.  Has been all over the U.S. with me on business trips, never failed.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I hope my VooDoo continues to serve me well but if it does fail, I have planned on buying something more high end. When I bought the case, my rifle was pretty standard and cost little over a grand. Since then Ive been a victim of the brainwashing that occurs here at ARFCOM and lets just say the rifle(s) I carry in the case are no longer anywhere near the low end of the spectrum. If I were buying a case today I would probably think they deserve a higher end case but with the VooDoo showing no signs of weakness, I can't justify getting rid of it! It does the job of transporting my rifles, protecting them while in transit and makes lugging them around as easy as possible. Really there's not much more I could ask for with all my current needs being met.

Again, thanks for taking the time to pass along your experiences.

I was looking at the 5.11 cases as well as Elite.

Never had a soft case just hard cases. Do the case contents hold up pretty good if they get banged around some?

SOFT add to cart for an additional $10 off.  $47 shipped.

HARD 36"

Both excellent and I have and use both.  You can also find a 42" version of the plano if you have an 18" barreled AR.

Never had a hard case, but I will say, i just don't pile stuff on my case in the back seat of the truck, my rifle case is usually on top.  My EI and IShot are both about 7 years old, no issues or problems and no rifle or content damage.
