Has anyone tried one? IT looks useful, but also not useful if that makes sense.

I took Pats  day class last year and he was selling these cheap, so I bought one to try. There primary use is for walls and barricades. It works nice to support the gun when shooting around a wall. And is out of the way on the sling when not being used.  Simple design..If not for the cheap class price and instant availability, I don't know if I would purchase one.

One of those you have to try out and see if you can find it useful kinda things.

I'm not sure how you rig your sling, but that has not been an issue at all...It hangs there as it were just part of the sling and makes no contact with my left hand at all..

You only contact it when you decide to grasp it and use it to brace against something and then it supports the front of the rifle.

looks like a really high speed solution to a pretty nonexistent problem.

You need to reevaluate how you set your sling up. There Are practically no reasons your sling should be riding the back of your hand.
