| Hi guys, I built an SPR and never got around to getting a bipod. I see three options as being the Harris, Atlas, or Vltor ModPod. Amongst the three I'm seeing differentiation by price, function, and attachment methods. I literally have zero experience with bipods; however, I'm not asking advice on whether or not to get/use one, but rather which one to get. For sake of discussion we'll assume for the Harris and Atlas that they're using QD mounts. I realize the Vltor method wouldn't allow for QD, but I do like how it can be pulled up along the rail and out of the way and even placed further back to keep the weight closer to the back and thus easier to hold and keeps it from being excessively front heavy. Thoughts, recommendations, experiences? I see plenty of talk of Harris vs Atlas, but not much on other options so thought I'd make it a trio and get a more interesting conversation going. |

I recently purchased this.
http://www.leapers.com/prod_detail.php?mitem=bipod&level1=&level2=&itemno=TL-BP88Q&status=&mtrack=m It is very solid and well built for the price. I couldn't find any reason to drop double or triple for a Harris....hell I am not going into combat. |

This. There is a reason Harris and Atlas are the only two you read about and it isn't because they suck. |

I went with the Harris/LaRue combo BRM-S |

You may consider the #NBP bipods from CAA. They are super rugged, lightweight and versatile.

My recommendations: #1: Atlas V8 #2: Brobo Type 3 #3: Larue modified Harris with notch legs . . . . . #4: Blackhawk! It's a cheap copy of the Brobo with some casted parts, no QD mount, instead of all machined like the Brobo. No bad for just around $100 street price. |
