Need a pair of binoculars that I could use at the range to help my friend sight in his ar15. or do u guys think a spotting scope would be better?

If you go with binoculars, get one with "phase-correction prisms" for chromatic aberration and for much better resolution. However, they cost more than those ones that have bak-4 roof prisms of lesser quality.
