I'm looking for simplicity. I've done the whole QD thing, and I'm over it. IMHO, it's a trend. I love the simplicity of mash hooks on a simple fixed loop (ZERO moving parts, NO fail. EVER). So, as I'm doing my next build, I'm deciding between fixed loop endplates. I have an IKH slap plate, and a generic fixed loop endplate. Problem is, I can't decide between the two. The IKH slap plate is a pronounced "loop" which extends out of the sling plate. The generic loop is just a simple "eyelet" which protrudes from the endplate.
This is the generic "eyelet" I'm talking about:

So, with mash hooks... which would you go with? A simple eyelet, or a simple loop?
Thanks for any feedback!

Loop. More flexibility then the eyelet when use with a MASH because they are almost about the same in size. Two same-sized semi-circles let's your bend any way you want. Also gives you more versatility to use straps and other hooks if need be.

I actually stayed with a QD end plate. I like the simplicity of loops better, but I couldn't stomach the way it looked on there. So Noveske QD on one, and an IWC on the other.

I've tried the SLAP and I'll be honest, I prefer the Magpul ASAP. I too like simplicity and am glad I went with mash hooks from the start. I use a now discontinued Emdom Gunslinger sling, but the rear portion is detachable via a fastex buckle and the pigtail (which has the mash hook) can be left on the rifle. On the front I use another mash hook and clip it into the standard FSB sling swivel.

Your picture isn't showing but I believe you mean this for your "generic loop":

If so, I also considered this endplate and it looked like the stock I was going to use wouldn't close all the way with it so I went with the Magpul ASAP instead.

Yes, that's the simple loop I was referring to. I do have one of those, but have not used it (as well as the IKH loop sitting around here somewhere). I went with Noveske (and an IWC) QD end plates. However, I'm still a fan of simple loops/mash hooks (which is my setup on my AK's).
For my current build I'm going "old school" KISS, with front sight post, fixed rear sight, NO sling adapters (just sling threaded into sling loop front and stock at rear) and plain mil spec end plate. For this rifle, it will just wear the sling 24/7.
See... that's the problem with AR's... you can't have just one (or 2 or 3)! So many styles and configurations to do! Ugh
