Heavy.

Sometimes awkward and wide.

Require you to learn two different reloading procedures as opposed to one.

Like anything, it has it's pros and cons which need to be considered. Pick the right tool for the right job.

I used to have 2. Now I have 0. Adds unnecessary weight and bulk to what is otherwise a handy rifle or carbine. I now use a quick grab bag/active shooter kit next to the rifle to carry extra mags, first aid gear, light, and cell phone. Makes more sense for my mission.
