I want a simple, inexpensive, soft padded nylon case that will hold a spare upper with optic on it.
I'd like it to be compact so I can throw my .22 upper into my rifle case with my AR and not bang them up too much. Anyone know of such a thing being produced..?? |

CountyComm makes a non-padded bag that would hold an upper. 26" long should work if you have a 16" barrel.
Bulldog makes a discreet case that is also 26" long, but is a bit wider to fit a lower in there also. Midway had them in stock last I looked. The only other thing I can think of is a hollowed pool stick case for multiple sticks, but no idea what length those are. If you do find anything, let us know. I'm sure others would be interested in one also. |

Around $20.00 at Walmart. Add some foam padding from the craft department($15.00). Spray adhesive ($5.00)
Total $40.00. I did this for an 18" barreled upper w/ a Smith-Vortex flash hider and Vortex 2.5-10x32. It fit, but not by much. I used 2 layers of foam for the sides and bottom, 1 across the top, and built up the ends with more foam. I'm pleased with how it came out.
