I want my rifle to naturally hang magazine-down, when I rest it against my chest.

So, I am going to get a picatinny sling mount and place it on the left side of my hand guard. The underside sling mount causes it to hang magazine-up.

My question is this:
Do I want a 360 swivel, or a regular swivel?

What type of sling do you have. Do you want a quick removal capability? If so, I would go with a QD swivel, but get one that is rotation limited so that your sling doesn't get twisted. Here's one example from Gear Sector.

If you don't want quick removal and just want a loop to run a web sling through, I recommend the FAB Defense Sling Mount as it's low profile and lightweight. Here's another example from Gear Sector.

Then there's always the Damage Industries Multi Mount which can be used with almost any setup.

Can someone suggest a sling adapter, please?

The FAB only accepts 1", I need 1.25".

Also, a reviewers say (on the two I looked at) that the edges are sharp, and will quickly destroy a sling..

Found a 1.25", I'll file the edges if I have to.
