Newb here looking to understand sling mounts.

So here are my questions.

What are the benefits of single vs 2 point?

On  a 2 point, there are several mount options, but how do you choose which ones to use?

I have a Vltor emod stock, so it has both built in loop holes as well as hole for a quick release swivel.

Other options I see are buffer tube brackets.

At the front I have a FF that has a bottom rail and short side rails at the front.  For the front mount is front attachment or rear attachment better?

After that, what options are there?  I have Troy buis so I like qualityof their stuff.  Im kinda leaning toward their Low Pro mount witha swivel there and another swivel in the stock.

2 point is more stable when going hands free and also allows you to wrap it around your arm to tighten up for accurate shots

Single point is easier for active shooting and transitioning from shoulder to shoulder and feels less restrictive, but can be uncomfortable when hands free because the rifle just falls straight down and can hit you in the knees or groin if you don't move it to the side.

Attachments: some people like swivels, some people like HK hooks, others ITW Mash hooks and some even 1.5" loops to pass the sling webbing though with no quick disconnect ability.

Which is better? It's all shooter preference. Do you like scrambled eggs or fried?

It's all shooter preference. The best thing to do is try out all of the configurations and see what works best for you.

I got a VCAS with a swivel hook up front and using the loop holes in the stock. I don't like the rear end so I'm going to go to a swivel in the back.

Your intended use will help to narrow down if a single or two point sling is more suitable.  Once you have that sorted out, it's easier to pick connection points and hardware.  Even the departments we deal with will sometimes issue two slings, a single point for warrant service/building clearing and a two point for perimeter work or other extended response calls.

We make an ambi sling mount that accommodates most of the slings out there and gives a wide range of motion during weapon transitions.
