I'm sure it's a dupe, but can't find an answer.
I have one of those adjustable 1 or 2 point slings - it has HK-style clips on both ends. Currently I've got it set up as a 1-point sling. However, is there a front attachment point that can work with the standard M4 front hand guards? Thanks. |

Are you talking about the FSB? Standard HGs? There's a couple of different options, but you'll need to be more specific about where you're planning to mount this sling... ~Augee |

It's already there. Though I could see how it may work for the OP since he's talking about USGI M4 handguards, it wouldn't be that much different then using one of those FSB sling adapters like the GG&G Sling Thing. The lowest tech I've done while deployed was running some 550 paracord off the front sight tower. I didn't know about the Blue Force Gear Universal Wire Loop at the time. |

The sling thing is interesting, but I have two concerns: 1) does that cause any torque and loss of front sight alignment? 2) I have an OR model, so no FSB! Though that's also a mod I'm thinking of - so if I do I might just be sure to buy a FSB with integrated sling lop. |

I'm planning on buying one in the next few weeks(I've said that for months, but something else always comes up first). |

OK, AAR on the Impact Weapons Component HK sling Link
First off, I ordered this about 3 weeks ago. It arrived in 2 days from CO to VA. It sat in my drawer for a week til I got to the weekend; upon opening I realized that the company had sent me the wrong item! A bit of grumbling on my part. Anyway, I went on their website, found what they sent, and shot them an email saying essentially "Hey, here's my order, you sent me Part X, I ordered Part Y. How can I exchange it? They answered within hours - credited my CC $5 and asked me to mail it back and sent the part that same day. Again, 2-day arrival (3 actually, due to Sunday). So kudos to them for great CS. (In all fairness, I ordered 3 different things from different websites that week, and all three were wrong when they came in - you know what they say about bad things coming in three) Finally got it mounted yesterday. It's clever shipping, the piece was "mounted" to the cardboard, with the instructions printed, so that essentially the cardboard box is the instruction sheet and carries the parts. Makes it tough to lose anything. It mounts to the plastic of the hand guard, you have to take off the heat shields since the screws are a bit too short to go through both. Unlike the picture in the link, the anchor points are off-set. Well, 2 of them are, they included a third that was centered like the website shows. I used the centered one and an off-set one at the farthest 2 points. The mounting point itself is solid steel, fairly thick and feels solid. It's tapered so that the loop comes off completely perpendicular to the circular front hand guard. It comes with 2 extra screws, and as I mentioned, a 3rd mounting base, along with an allen screwdriver. If one desired to put it onto the heat shields they'd have to get longer screws. My sling fits nicely and feels relatively solid. I just shot 150 rounds today, about 3 mags of that using the sling as a 2-point instead of a 1-point. I like it so far. I think that so far it's a solid piece of equipment - it's not a complicated design and the metal is certainly thick (I'd estimate 2mm for the loop, about 4 for the base of the attachment point) Granted, I haven't put it through any sort of combat or class, but I would suggest that someone in those situations at least consider this item if necessary. I look forward to using this item more - for now it's going to stay on.

I might get one of those for myself. I'm a recent IWC covert myself. But I do wish that my IWC cantilever rail had come with one of the offset nuts, I'm going to have to shorten one of mine to get it to fit where I want it. I'm still running with my temp fix for now, just haven't made the time to file one end of the weld nut down and reblue. |
