Well I ordered webbing and hardware from strapworks.com and constructed myself a sling for my rifle.  I went with 1.5" as opposed to 1" width as I was looking for the most amount of comfort.  I would have chosen the 1.25" but they didn't have any in that width.  I like the larger buckles of the 1.5" for use with gloves as it gets very cold here in Iowa.

My problem is that there are not a lot of options for 1.5" webbing as far as mounting to the rifle.  The rear attachment point is at the rear of the buttstock and I would like to switch to a QD swivel at the receiver plate.  No options for 1.5".

Are most of you using a 1" wide sling?

Thank you.

Got a sewing machine, or know someone who does? Stitch some 1" to the 1.5 at the ends to be able to adapt to QD swivels.

Most slings I have seen are wide at the area that hangs across the shoulder,  then narrowing down to 1.25 or 1" at the connecting ends.

Damnit...I should have thought of this.

Thank you!

2inch pad tapered down to MINIMUM of 1.5 inch.

1 inch is too narrow IMO. It gets twisted around too much. 1.5 is perfect
