I tried doing a search and didn't get any results, so my apologies if this is a duplicate.
Do any of you have the AR MagVault from GunVault? If so, what are your opinions of it (pros & cons)? Is it worth the $$?
Thanks for your help

It looks like it would do the job. But a good old cable lock from a handgun would too, and be a lot cheaper. Or a simple trigger guard.

Looks to be a problem in search of a solution, although it was, "inspired by extensive customer demand."

That's what I'd go with. I already own a couple that I don't use on the handguns.

wouldnt it be even easier to simply remove the BCG and place it apart from the rifle.

Seems like it would be a little easier on the BCG than your standard cable lock in the event that the carrier release was accidentally pressed/bumped. Can't say if the cable would damage the BCG, but the potential is there.
Plus it saves the "hassle" of having to take 10*30 seconds to actually remove/insert the BCG, especially if using this as a home defense gun. I'm still kinda new to the black rifle world so IMBW.

The cable will not harm  anything, bolts and carriers are built pretty tough. Just think what happens everytime you pull that trigger.

I think if I had to reinstall the bcg or remember where I put that darn key I would opt for the former..... Doesn't everyone have one of those key chains with dozens of keys

that go to who knows what?

For a home defense gun, you also have the option of just having a loaded mag in your secret hiding spot. An AR without a loaded mag is just a nice club.

If you have to hide something.... a key, a bcg,or a loaded mag take your pick to what fits your situation.

I actually have one I bought about a week ago.  I actually like it a lot. I find it to be better than the ol'cable/lock combo. Especially since I always found it a bit annoying to feed and un-feed the cable through the ejection port . Cable was to stiff and gets caught on the way in/out and from what I have easy to break off according to some of these you tube videos I saw. With the Mag lock  It's CA-DOJ approved for us Californians. and found it to be faster to install/remove by  inserting (like a mag) and releasing to be a plus in my opinion.
If you don't have a big safe and have kids then I recommend getting this over the cable lock we are used to. I can't say enough good things about this lock and every time I pull my weapon out and take the lock off. It reminds me that it was worth the money for this lock. ( found it cheap on amazon btw).

Make it with a combination lock on the bottom and I MAY be interested.  Still prefer my guns without any stupid gun-locks though.

I currently don't have a safe for rifles (just handguns) and I store the bolts for rifles in the handgun safe.  I think I may give this a try, as I am not fond of the cable thru the magwell for some reason.

If you have a bolt that could be damaged by a cable lock you need a new rifle.
