I want to pick up a case that will hold an M4 with the stock retracted, six mags, a Colt 1911, and three magazines. What would be the best size for that? I was looking at the 1700s, but they seem sort of long for this. The Stag Arms web-site shows their "Executive Survival Kit," a rifle/case combo that says it comes with a 1700. This looks like what I want, but the 1700s I see for sale look longer than what Stag shows. Any suggestions?

Sometimes vendors don't use the proper pic of an item. Lay out a piece of 35.75"x13.5" cardboard and arrange your items on it.  This way you will know exactly what your box will look like.  IMO a 1700 should be perfect for what you want to put in it.

Agreed, the 1700 will work fine.

Pelican case 1700 will work fine. I have my m4 in one, although the stock is collapsed, and I still have room for mags, pistol, etc.

You're good to go

for both pistol and rifle, I'd recommend a Pelican 1720.  Check the website (Guncruzer series I believe) and there is a picture or two that should answer your questions.

I agree on the 1700 also. Consider WWW.bhphoto.com for your purchase. Best price I was able to find.
