Howard Leight Impacts are hard to beat and are half the price you listed. Their low profile design is also a bonus.

I'm pretty fond of my Peltor Tactical 6s. They can be had on eBay for about $60.  They are also low profile which is nice when shooting rifle/shotgun.

A buddy of mine who has been around in the LEO/tactical/federal world has a pair of those and speaks very highly of them.

+1 $59 at Walmart I didn't buy them but they look pretty nice and low profile I have a non Electronic Howard Leight LOf set I paid around $15 for and they are realy nice and lo-pro. They fold up nice and compact and you don't look like Princess Leia wearing them. They also fit perfect and can adjust to fit small heads or pumpkin sized domes.

I have a pair of these, work great, can even listen to music on them from an mp3 player while shooting :p  Cheap and effective too!

There are a number of people on the tv shooting programs that use these.  I have a pair and they are great.  IMO for the money, you cannot go wrong.

I do not recommend Howard Leights for hard use, I stick with Peltors 6s or Com-tacs.

Another vote for Howard Leight.  I have been using a pair for about a year and I am not easy on my gear.  I also ran them through a week long NRA course in October and several training classes since then and they have held up great.  I got mine for about $50 from Brownells.

I'm on my second pair of these after the first pair died.  They work well enough, but I'm not impressed with the quality.  They hiss a bit more than I'd like too.

When the current pair dies, I'll replace them with Leights or Peltors.

Pro ears dimension gold is what I use.
I can hear a pin drop across the room, and when the gun fires it blanks out the noise real good.
Get ready to pay about $300 for these.

+1. Mine are on the way out. Then again, I regularly fire a subgun, machinegun, and a .50 BMG.
