Hey guys, I need some softcase recommendations for a future AR.
It will need to hold a 16" standard rifle as well as the basic accessories. Pouches and compartments are needed. Im looking at this. Should be good right? Any others you would recommend? |

These are what I have. Prices have went up since I bought though.

I'd go with this case if you are thinking about going LaRue. I own it and for the money I think it's built well and has some neat features to it. Also looks just like a keyboard case and not "tacticool" to keep your neighbors and other prying eyes from getting worried. Here's some pics of mine with my KAC SR15. |
|
I purchased one from Midway. Used it a couple of times and it started coming apart at the seams. I would advise against purchasing one from Midway. Received the following response from customer service. "Thank you for your recent email. I apologize, but the range bag (gun case) does not come with a warranty; so therefore we would not be able to accept a return. Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused."

| I like the iShot and Spike's Tactical, primarily because they have the flexibility to re-arrange the way you secure the weapon. Based on the pics above, looks like the original Larue case does also. I also have a condor, which is ok, but it doesn't secure your weapon as well as the ones I mentioned. I use the Condor for my 870P. |
| After looking for over a year for a soft case I stumbled across the I-Shot case. I picked it because it was more modular than the others. I actually bought two. Just got them in and they seem very well built. They are throwing in a 3 magazine carrier for free right now. I got the 36" one and it will fit two AR15s. |

voodoo case $44!!!!
i just ordered one of these. cant go wrong with that!!!! |

Sorry. I'm stupid and cannot hotlink. But I have been considering this one from Castle Rock Tactical. Read a few negative reviews on the Larue. Have not seen any negative reviews on this one.
http://www.castlerocktactical.com/crt_dc16.htm OK. This may or may not work. Trying to figure out the hotlink. ETA: Screw it. Just copy and paste. |

You go like this textgoeshere. (press quote to see how it's done)
Also, ETA means "estimated time of arrival" I don't really understand what you mean there.
Have you considered the Blue Force Gear Discreet Carbine Case? |

Have you considered the Blue Force Gear Discreet Carbine Case? Forum reference: ETA = Edited To Add And thank you for the hot link tip. |

That looks like the perfect bag. Instead of paying $80, why not pay a bit more and get the best... is my thinking. |

I remember seeing it somewhere else online, but I-shot was throwing in the 3 magazine carrier for free when I bought mine. |

Has anyone had any experience with the Brownells case? http://www.brownells.com/1/1/2003-signature-series-m4-rifle-case-m4-single-rifle-case-coyote-brownells.html This looks pretty nice but you can't see what the inside is like from pics. |
|
This looks pretty nice too... not real "tacticool" looking but a nice case nonetheless. http://www.galatiinternational.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=GIO&Product_Code=SQ38&Category_Code=squarecase I'm not sure what direction to take. I'm sorda leaning towards the brownells case with some extra pouches for the outside. I like the Coyote color just for a nice change from black. |

Did you read this thread:
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=19&t=514376 Thee is a reason everyone is suggestion the Voodoo case... It is very nice and is half the price of most other cases. I have one. The material and compartments are great. I really like the coyote color, but Have seen them in all the colors. Do yourself a favor and buy this one and save your money for ammo and such. |

I'm looking for internal webbing, removable outer bags or better yet some more like the Brownells that I can customize the way I want. There's no denying that the Voodoo is a great bag for the price, and I may end up with a couple.. but I'm not just looking for the best deal. I'm looking for exactly what I want and I don't mind paying extra. I've seen that bag up close and I do like it, but I'm just wanting something a bit different. I have a closet full of holsters, range bags, packs, etc, that I bought with pure value in mind and I always end up spending a bit more money later on and getting what I should have got in the first place. |
|
I really like the Larue Covert also, but another one I would recommend would be an Eagle Industries case.
I think they are some of the finest made cases available. They also have discreet style cases, but for the money I think the Larue Covert is a better buy on that particular style. |
|
I have a Galati case that I've been very happy with. It's well made and they are a site sponsor. |

Would the 36" fit your basic ar15. My first built is waiting on lowers that's on it's way so I can't measure it. I have the 16" midlength upper. I should just wait until It's put together..............but I can't Appreciate it.
|
| Crap, I need a case for my new build and can't decide if I want to go the cheap route with the voodoo, or spend some more and go 5.11, galati, or blackhawk discreet. One of the major things I don't like about the voodoo is that it doesn't have internal straps, right? |
|
I'm not sure how the Midway softcases stack up with the rest of the cases mentioned but for $18.99 (reg.$34.99) I couldn't pass up ordering one.
