Real simple question: Should i pull the trigger on a MS2, or should i wait for the MS3 to come out?

Thanks

Can't really say yet since no one has an MS3 to give an opinion on. I got tired of waiting and bought an MS2 - couldn't be happier.  I'll buy an MS3 when they come out for comparison and keep the one that works best for me.

Do we even know what the improvements are?

There are many convertible slings out right now that are less expensive and more functional/comfortable.

Thanks

The Blue Force Gear VCAS is a great sling, and I run the padded version on my two carbines, and a Gear Sector single point on my SBR.

The Magpul guys make some valid arguments for the single-point, but I've trained enough with my VCAS's that I am comfortable with them, to include shoulder transitions and everything else in which MS2/3 is supposed to excel.

Note: No personal experience with the MS2/3, but it certainly appears to be a good piece of kit that many prefer. I'm thinking of T&E-ing an MS3 on my SBR when they come out. I am not a door kicker, just a regular patrol guy/supervisor/firearms instructor.

I also use the VCAS to the effect that this guy does. I do transitions even without adjusting the slider most times. I love it.

I've used the MS2 as well but found that a single point wasn't need for me. The way I have my VCAS attached makes it very flexible.

If you want to give a convertible a try, look at the Endom and The TacStrap.

Both are thicker than the MS2, and more varied attachment options.

I have the ms2 sling.  The sling isn't wide enough and will over time start digging into your shoulder.  Secondly the one peice of hardware that allows you transition between 1 point and 2 point, according to the instructions, doesn't work well with the standard front swivel under the gas block.  Magpul is developing the rsa to address this but it isn't out yet.  I do like the sling and how fast it is.  I think the adjustment speed is faster than the vickers and use is simple to learn.  But I would not take this sling to a full day carbine class.  It is a great sling for intermittent use on/off.  Very good flor grab and go but not standing all day with rifle on your person.  If magpul develops a pad on this sling and lengthens it that will be money.  I am currently looking at the Vcas, Vtac, and Emdom slings to supplement the ms2.  The last thing is attachment options there aren't any for the ms2.

I used to LOVE the MS2 sling and used to hype it up all the time. Then I purchased a VCAS for my ak74 and tried it on my AR also....after that I promptly sold the ms2 and got another VCAS. I just like everything about it better.
