I know how to install it, I think, but on my S&W M&P15X the screw inside the hollow of the original gip doesn't have any type of head that I've seen before. It is just a raised up circle with a hole in the middle. I've tried needle nose pliers but couldn't grip it. Has anyone encountered anything like this and how did they get it out?

Are you sure its not an alan key? Shine a light down there . Sometimes you cant make out the edges of the hole . Also, It takes a pretty long alan wrench to reach it.

Just double checked with my bore light, it's definitely not an allen key. Its deeper and the "walls" are slightly slanted.

And of course, after posting that, I find it . Thanks for the extra push to make me look again. Installed the MIAD, and love it.
