Has anyone dremelled this off and ran the MS2 or other sling off of it?  Wouldn't it work just like the slap plate?

I'm sure someone probably has.

But it wouldn't be as wide... but will probably work the same, maybe not so well with webbing.

But the SLAP is easier to install and cheaper to buy...so why buy an ASAP just to dremel it when you get what you want for less cost?

I guess if you already have the ASAP it's a different story.

Yeah, the extra cost, the rattle of the ring on the rifle, and the shim stack installation idea are all big turn offs for me. I'm sure they would work the same, but as LaRue said, why not just get the cheaper, easier to install of the two? SLAP Plate all the way.

I don't think the MS2 sling would work without the ring.  The ASAP bar doesn't stick out as far as the SLAP so I doubt you could clip to it.  In fact, I think I tried it and it woudln't fit.

Wish I would of knew about the slap plate before I ordered the ASAP last year. That little ring drives me crazy sometimes.

Fifty bucks says that's Magpul comes hard with an ASAP 2 or ASAP-A without the ring or something....

Used both, prefer the ASAP.

Not quite sure how a ring can get annoying.

When you're shooing, you wear ear-pro.  When you're using your gun, you have a sling attached.

How in the hell can that ring be annoying to anyone?
