I am wanting to add a 1 point TAC sling to my new AR.
Are the are the adapters that slide on then tighten down on the castle lock nut as reliable as the adapters that require the stock and receiver extension  to come off thus requiring a stock wrench??

Thanks

I used the "agency" sling adapter from gg&g. On my personal rifle with commercial (slightly larger) buffer tube I have had no problem. When I used the same part on my issue m4 in Afghanistan the slight smaller diam of the mil spec buffer tube caused it to be a little loose. 2 wraps of duct tape on the tube and then reinstall adaptor over it and it was good

I'll ask another question on this same subject. It looks to me like the non-gunsmithing single point sling adaptors are thicker than the ones that you install in place of your end plate and might prevent the stock from totally collapsing by a fraction of an inch or so.  Is this true or are my eyes deceiving me?

Some will prevent the stock from collapsing completely and some wont.

Tactical Link only requires sliding off the buttstock.
You do not have to use any tools, take off the castle nut, extension tube, or anything else.
I use one on my M4 at work, never had a problem, has never come loose or failed in any way. Sometimes I'm running around with it slamming into stuff, etc.

I recently started a similar thread.  I saw the Tango Down PR4 and KZ3 mounts, but don't know how well they attach and what the fit is like.  I would like to know also how effective it would be to transition from 2 point to single point using these attachments.
