Guys,
I'm considering getting Vltor ModPod legs for my recce build. I've found some stuff online (such as MilitaryMorons write up on it) but most of what I've found are just descriptions with some pics and pro's and con's listed. What I haven't seen much of are user reviews? So I like to get some end user feedback from those who have (or had) the ModPod? Do you like it or do you hate it? What did you like about it, what did you hate? If you had one and sold it, why? What did you replace it with? If you could do it over again, would you buy it again? From the reading I've done, here's what I'm seeing... Neutral - The ModPod gives a really wide stable base but in fairness, I've never had any issue with a Harris bipod in the regard. Good - The ModPod is really light weight (10-11ozs?) and they fold up fairly tight to the rail. It's the only bipod I've seen that seems light and compact enough that I would feel comfortable leaving it on the gun all the time regardless if I was at the range or in the field or where ever? Bad - No swivel adjustment which means if I try to setup on uneven ground, I may not be able to level the gun? It's kind of a one weapon accessory meaning because it's only usable on weapons that have a 4 rail handguard and even then, it's not as quick or easier to install\remove as say a Harris Bipod with a LaRue mount. |
