I have one of these on a used AR I just picked up in trade. I'm curious if it's a real Grip Pod or a paintball forgery. No I.D. markings on it anywhere. The pictures of the items side by side on the interweb stores are absolutely EYE-DENT-EE-KULL. One at $80, the other at $13. Anyone have a clue how to tell them apart?
It seems very tight and firm...easily takes the weight of the gun, with no movement what so ever when handling the weapon by the grip alone. I'm a gun pamperer anyway, so it probably will never matter. Old and dis-abled, so I'm not going to be making any diving leaps, landing with the bipod extended.  Makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Thanks for the link, cmcflex. That helped a lot.
Now I know I don't own a real *Grip Pod, since it's got no logo on the left side, but it's not as bad a copy as was shown on that video. Unlike the cheap copy compared in the video, my hardware looks as robust as the real thing and doesn't rattle when shaken. It must be the $38 copy, instead of the $13 one. We'll see how it holds up. | I bought one of those last year for about $15, and between using it on my ar and a few airsoft rifles I haven't gotten rid of yet, it seems to be holding up pretty well. It is a little scratched up, but it will still do its job. I guess the 5 year old who assembled mine did a good job. |
