Does anyone make some type of cover that fits over a aluminum free float tube, like neoprene or something.  Thanks.

Well it is something.  A 2" ID piece of ABS pipe will cover a 2"OD FFT.  Looks goofy but will cover it.
I've used it for a make shift "sled" at a BR match.  Worked.
What are you trying to achieve?

only thing I can think that I've seen is 550 cord wrapped around the tube

I don't know if they make it that large but I've used heat shrink tubing to rubber coat a lot of things.

My first time posting here and I didn't know where to post a pic of my AR, but you might like to see what I made for my tube.

I just picked up my Bushmaster Vmatch and while I'm waiting for my Burris PEPR mount to get here I though I would camo my AR.

The material is Cordura 500 in MO Brush. I had some small scraps left over from making a jacket and thought I would use them as upholstery for my AR's furniture.

I've had a gun chap on my Winchester Model 70 for 20 years that was made by Kane.

I gave up on being able to find anything for the AR and just made my own as you see above.  I was going to rattle can it, but decided it would be better if I at least tried making the chaps first.

Neoprene would probably have been easier to fit because of how it stretches and exact fitting would not have been as much of an issue.  I haven't really seen any camo versions that I like in neoprene.

If you have someone that can make it for you the materials were pretty cheap. Find the material and camo pattern you want to use and buy a $2 separating zipper. My cordura 500 was around $10 a yard. So for $54 I made a hunting jacket, poncho and a gun chap.

I hope that at least helps you in some way.

I wraped mine in para cord

on cold winter days my hands stay much warmer now

remove the inner strands and the para cord will lay flatter

Thanks, for all the help.  I'm going to give the para cord a try.
