I'm looking into getting a dump pouch to drop my mags in while running drills.  I don't know a whole lot about them and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.  What is a good pouch that will stay open, but not spill all my mags out when I go prone or run?  Anything else I should be thinking about when I decide what pouch to go with?  Thanks!

I really like the Emdom Dump Pouch

You can also take a look at the CSM Dump Pouch

Here's what I use, maxpedition dump pouch, it works well.

I use a Spec-Ops dump pouch.
The top is a stiffened spring loaded slot with a flap that can be folded back out of the way and secured with velcro.
Magazines are easy to slip into the pouch and the top design keeps them from bouncing back out. Good Stuff.
The pouch is large enough that any type of magazines short of Bet-C mags and RPK Drums will fit and quite a few can be dropped in.
My pouch will easily handle 12 thirty shot magazines or 16-18 20 shot magazines but it does get bulky and rattly at that point.

The USMC issued version is actually one of the better ones I have used.  I can't find a picture of it, but it has a drawn string on it to secure anything in it.  When it is open the mouth is held open by a semi hard plastic cabling inside.  Easily holds 6 or so mags with no issue of them failing out while doing a course.

I've been using the 5.11 Large dump pouch, folds fairly flat when not in use and is large enough for 5 or 6 empty mags.

That would be the CSM Dump pouch, which is the best in my opinion. Well designed, easy access in and out and bombproof... lots of clones....which tells you how good it is... stick with CSM.

Thanks for all the responses.  I went with the Emdom pouch because it looked good and was a tad cheaper than the CSM.  Tme will tell if that was $10 well saved...

Here are some  old pics of the CSM, the original dump pouch. Doc Mike makes great gear. I also bought a riggers belt from him too.
