I have a ctr that wobbles very slightly, does this happen very often?

Are you using the friction lock?

I think so, I just push it up after the stock is in the position of my choice, I'm not missing anything am I?

In more detail,
Are you using a commercial diameter CTR stock on a military specification diameter extension tube?

My stock is commercial and I was almost positive my buffer tube was, I will compare it to my brothers next time I get the chance.

The problem with commercial tubes is that there is no true spec. Whereas with mil-spec tubes, they'll all be pretty close as far as specs. The friction lock may not perform to it's optimal level when using a commercial tube.

I think there is a solution to get rid of the play. I'll try to find it.

Try this: Knock the roll pin out of the friction lock. Inside you will find a metal piece that is in a "U" shape. Take a pair of pliers and ever so slightly, squeeze it closed a tiny bit. Put it back together and try the friction lock again. You only need to squeeze it a little bit to make a big difference.

Thanks, I'll give a shot!

Another option would be to take a small length of loop Velcro tape and put it on the extension tube or inside the stock tube.  Doesn't take much.
If this is too thick you can try electrical tape or even duct tape, building up layers to an appropriate thickness.

I had the same problem, mil spec CTR with a mil spec tube though. I called Magpul they were great. Sent me out a new stock and prepaid postage for the old one to be returned!

Wow, thanks. I'll try this before I do any modifications.
