I had already made a couple of the 3 point slings described in the tacked post (They work great) and got inspired in tackling my own single point design. I helps that I had left overs webbing and plastic hardware from a previous order. So after 3  redesigns I came up with this:

The trick was to get both ends to meet at a 90 degrees at the front..

Excess material left for prototype adjustments

And now Bender will pose for some shots...

Weapon on the side

This is as cheap as it gets...Can shoot off both hands and retention is excellent. With a little  reassembly you can chnage the configuration to wear over the other shoulder...(The pics are for a left hand configuration as I'm, uhh..I mean Bender is left eye dominant)

HK Snap hooks

Just made one today similar to this... used an "S-biner" type hook instead of the HK style mash hook. Also put a second quick release buckle in the strap itself just at the 90 degree junction to ease entry/exit into the sling and to also give one more point of "quick exit" if needing to get out of the sling.

I found about 15' of nylon strap, ended up using about half of it.
4 sliders
2 quick release buckles
and 1 S-biner (kinda like a climbing carabiner, but with two gates and an overall S shape)

All said an done... about 6 bucks of stuff that I had laying around.
Now to figure out how to post pictures... off to search function.
I'll probably go ahead and part together another one from strapworks... I'm liking this style sling a bunch.

Thanks for the inspiration Erne!

Edit to add: this should be pinned too... I like the 3 point sling "how to" that is pinned... but we need a single point "how to" up there as well.

I have been getting emails from people asking how to make one of these...I just took more detailed pics...Hope it helps...

Disclaimer: if you somehow manage to kill yourself while assembling this contraption, dont blame me...I have extremely short patience with retards...You have been warned!

You need a HK type snap hook, 1" slide lock, around 10 inches of 1" webbing and half of the 1.5" buckle for the first assembly

Assemble as shown in the picture. Notice that I just looped the extra webbing around but you can cut it for better results

For the next assembly you need around 6 to 7 feet of 1.5" webbing, the other half of the 1.5" buckle and 3 x 1.5" slide locks.
Assemble one end as shown in the following two pics...

Then slide the two remaining slide locks through the other end...

Bring the other end around and pass it through the loop created by the assembly at the first end...

Loop back...

Now lock it by using the slide lock...

Use the same technique of locking the rest of the webbing on the remaining slide lock...You should end up with something like this:

Try it on, adjust to your body and cut the excess material...Voila! Cheap single point sling that doesnt require sewing...

Be safe!!!
