I have a YHM free float fore end on my carbine. I have a sling that attaches to the side, not bottom, sling swivel. I had initially added a rail mounted swivel to my free float, however, I found that the swivel had a tendency to dig in my back while carrying the rifle. So I removed the swivel and the rail it was attached to. The YHM free float tube has vents cut in it, and I'd like to wrap some paracord through those vents and secure the front of sling under the paracord. My question is, what kind of know should I use to make sure the thing doesn't come loose?
ETA: I'd rather use a nice knot than leave the paracord unsecured and held down by damned gorilla tape. But I know that crap would work, it's unbelievably durable. Another ETA: What would really be nice is if I had a short length of strap that was doubled over and sewn on each end. I could run each end through a plastic sling slide sloop, and the doubled over end would secure it, and I could use this as my front attachment point. Problem is, I've got no way to sew on a strap. |
