[ARCHIVED THREAD] - YHM forearm tool required ?

I think I am going to install a LW YHM FF railed forearm on a rifle... will my AR15 armorers wrench work for this or do I need topurchase the YHM tool ? Thanks

The YHM tool for tightening the locking ring is very helpful.

Get the YHM tool. I tried to use the two prongs on a DPMS armorer's wrench to install one and ended up screwing up the barrel nut and had to buy a new barrel nut and the correct wrench from YHM to get it installed correctly. Plus the YHM wrench also works on my LaRue barrel nut too so it's come in handy several times now.

Do you really need the YHM wrench? That's dumb. Their are supposed to be a budget rail. For the extra $$$ for the wrench you might as well get a Midwest Industries which people seem to like more.
