I'm looking to install a sinlge point sling adapter on a new Colt rifle I recently acquired. On previous rifles I've simply just installed an end-plate adapter, but this rilfe has the castle nut so nicely staked that I don't want to break the staking. Many companies make adapters that clamp around the buffer tube or castle nut. I'm looking for opinions on these. I'm considering the following products:
Tango Down PR-4 Daniel Defense EZ Carbine Sling Mount Midwest Industries MCTAR-13, MCTAR-14, MCTAR-30, MCTAR-30HD Troy Industries Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also, on previous rifles I've used the Daniel Defense Burnsed Loop adapter, which is great, but it seems quite popular today to use an adapter that accepts push-button sling swivels. I plan to use a Gear Sector ASP, which is set up so that the loop around the body easily detaches from whatever type of adapter is being used, thus negating the need for the push-button sling swivel (I think:?). Please tell me why push-button sling swivels are so popular ... there must be a good reason. Thanks in advance. |

I recently installed swivels on my rifle,I went with them because I like how they work and attach.I would go with the DD ez carbine sling mount if your not wanting to remove the castle nut,I almost went with it but decided that I didnt want anymore screws or lok-tite to mess with and the stock wont close fully with this mount but not a big deal if you ask me.I went with this mount and really like it alot!!
