Looking at a vericle grip with the bipod inside the handle. I have now noticed several models from American made to Hong Kong. I don't know where to physically look and hold one of these grips so I will have to try and get healthy suggestions. I would like to keep this grip on the small side since I share this weapon with my wife and she is only 5' and 100lbs. The AR15 is a Stag 16" used mostly for rec use. The bipod will be used mostly for bench shooting so I don't think it would have to be made indestructable. Still don't have the weapon yet so I have plenty of time to shop. Leaning toward the GPS-02.
Thanks for the suggestions. |

*snip* ...I would like to keep this grip on the small side... Not gonna happen with an integrated vfg/bipod. *snip* ...The bipod will be used mostly for bench shooting... If this is the case I would suggest a Harris with a QD mount from LaRue, just take it off when not in use, that way when you expand your collection you can move it around too. Thanks for the suggestions. Hope this helps. |
| I have the new QD Larue bipod and would use a Larue FUG for a VFG and swap them. You have lose the ability to adjust for cant with a grip pod, it is much larger, heavier, and just not as good a VFG as the FUG and not as good a bipod as the Larue Harris set up. You cant mount the VFG enough forward to be optimal and the grip enoughto the rear to be optimal. A grip pod is a total comprimise to have the ability to use either in every way. If you can manage the expense and the 10 seconds to swap between the two the Larue set up is better in every way, from size, to storage, to utility. |
| I would like address some concerns of the above post Mr Devl mentioned about the Grip Pod .. First you mention the grip Pod is larger,, and heavier, than the harris bipod. This is Not True as Most harris bipods weigh from 10 to 16 ounces and then you have to include ,the larue interface piece to attach the harris to the rail of an ar 15, which also weighs around 5 ounces, and if you include a fug verticle grip you included to give the vertical forgrip ability you have to add approximately 6 ounces more .. In my estimate your total weight of the above items exceeds 21 ounces which is 3 times the Weight of the Military issue Grip Pod GPS Model 02 which weighs just 7 ounces and does the work of all the above Items you mention .After testing most bipods , the U S Military picked the lightweight ,fast deploying ,and strong Grip Pod , so well that the U S Army,U S Marines ,U S National Guard ,British Army ,FBI , tested and adopted the Grip Pod as their ISSUE Bipod and Vertical Forgrip. Furthurmore to date the Grip Pod is the Largest Adoption of all weapons stabilization system by virtually ALL the above forces ever ... in the history of this great country ,,,,and we are very proud to help our fighting men 23skildoo GPS SYSTEMS Hope this helps guys what a great forum .. |

I believe he was suggesting that the FUG weighs less. Ant to remove the Harris when not in use. This is exactly what I do. |
