Is the 4 position collapsible buttstock that comes stock on the LE6920 compatible with any aftermarket fixed A2 buttstock?
I just sold an RRA carbine that has an A2 buttstock and was going to swap that out with the 4 position collapsible buttstock when I get my Colt LE6920 in February. Are they compatible? I called Colt but they are on holiday until January 5th. |

They are two diferent set-ups.
The A2 stock uses the rifle length buffer & spring along with the rifle receiver extention. It can be mounted onto a 6920 and will work fine. You must remove the factory sliding stock and receiver extention. I would not remove the 6920 sliding stock, it makes the rifle shorter for storage. Just push the lever and it opens to the length you need. Colt uses a milspec diameter receiver extention on their sliding stock, most others use a commercial diameter receiver extention,,,,,,look at the Magpul website for details on the measurement. HTH |

I think that answers my question. The reason I'm swapping is I prefer the fixed A2 buttstock for a number of reasons, and the guy who bought my rifle today prefers the collapsible buttstock....so we were going to swap them when I get my new rifle. He mentioned some mil-spec dimensions were different, so the question then became: can we actually swap out the LE6920 collapsible buttstock with the fixed A2 that is on the RRA?
I checked a couple websites that sell various buttstocks, and I haven't seen any specific to the Colt LE model as opposed to any other AR out there, but maybe I'm not looking at the right websites. |
