Dumb question I know, and kicking myself for not remembering.

When I bought my A4 it had the standard 6 position collapsible buttstock which I promptly changed to the A2. I bought it at the gun store when I bought the rifle and they swapped it out for me. I sold the collapsible buttstock shortly thereafter and forgot about it.

I'm selling the rifle now and am considering buying a collapsible buttstock to put back on because it seems most people prefer that and it would make it easier to sell. Also, I have a 6920 on the way and I will put an A2 buttstock on when it arrives, so I'll need to buy a buttstock anyway.

Question: do I need to get a new buffer and spring with the collapsible buttstock or are they compatible with the A2 style?

A rifle buffer and spring are different from a carbine buffer and spring.
