I am in the process of building an AR.
Currently waiting for some more parts to arrive, so with my free time I decided I wanted to have something more unique than just buying a nylon sling so I went ahead and made a sling using paracord. Not only is it really strong, but if need be, it could be dissasembled into 4 cords each 35 feet long. Since I was making it for myself, I also was able to do it the exact legnth I desired. Anyways talk is cheap: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e345/Evil_Snow_Man/DSCN0031.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e345/Evil_Snow_Man/DSCN0033.jpg |

The main weave is 4 long legnths of cord looped over your starting point to cause 8 strands for weaving. You do 2x cobra knot with the left 4 strands, and 2x with the right 4 strands. Than 2x with the middle 4 strands. Than repeat with left + right, than middle again... You can find many many tutorials on cobra knots online. Can you post a pic with the gun attached..... I will be sure to update with those photos after the AR is built As in original post, I am still waiting on all parts to come in. Complete upper rifle kit is in mail to me right now, waiting on custom lower to be finished. |

OK Paracord geniuses... I want to wrap my VFG and Skeleton Stock (just the top rail). I've been looking for some help in the "slings and other accessories" area but have had no luck. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=19&t=416879
Can someone guide me in the right direction? I'm told there is a method and I don't want to try it wrong the first 5 times! Thanks. |
