Howdy Folks, I'm new to this site and new to the AR-15 world. I just purchased a couple of bushmasters and i'm going to change the furniture on my patrolman's carbine. My question relates to the color of magpul products. Is there a standard that the company and other companies adhere to? I think I'm going to get a SA-XD in .45 if I got OD or FDE would it match magpuls? Does anyone have any pictures of their XDs next to some magpul products? E |

sorry I can't help you with pictures... but different manufactuers go with their own color schemes... magpul has magpul Flat dark earth, magpul foliage, magpul Olive drab and magpul Urban Dark Earth(only available from LaRue as a complete furniture kit). when compared to Vltor Flat dark earth they do not match as also seen with tango down and blackhawk products. they are somewhat close and can work together as seen in the picture threads. my best way to explain it would be to check out duracoats color schemes. http://www.houtsenterprises.net/dur_patterns.html they list the different color patterns close to each other so you can see the similarities. honestly the best way to do it, go to a gun show and compare what you are looking for at a table. If I ever am looking for side by side comparisons I take my AR or XD9sc to the gun show and that way I'm not guessing.(although I have to put up with 1000s of "are you selling your rifle?") |
That magazine looks like Trijicon's version of FDE.
