Need your thoughts on this. I was looking for a soft case with one strap to sling across my back to transport my AR-15 to the range on my motorcycle. I could not find anything close to what I was looking for. So with the help of two very good friends we made one. Keep in mind that this is just a prototype and not the finished product. There are still a lot of things and details to work out. Let me know your thoughts on this, what you would add or change. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm188/r1922r/IMAG0717-1.jpg The case is made from an old shelter half. The snaps will be replaced with buckles. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm188/r1922r/IMAG0720.jpg The inside is seat covering, soft and tough. I wanted the mag pocket on the inside to keep the outside clean. The idea was for it to not look like a gun case, but it does. As I said this is just a prototype so the seams stand out. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm188/r1922r/IMAG0725.jpg My AR is a Bushmaster 14.5 HBAR with a YHM phantom flash hider built by me. here http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm188/r1922r/IMAG0726.jpg This strap was just a quick fix to see how it would hang. It is slung over the right shoulder and under the left arm. The final sling will be 2 in seatbelt materiel covered in ½ in padding and the same canvas as the case. The bottom of the strap will be attached to the case like the top of the strap, it puts too much stress on the seam the way it is now. So, this is what I’ve got so far. Like I said this is just a prototype. Give me your input. |
Yes, a little wider for rigs with optics. Also maybe a buckle instead of a snap, or something that will positively not come unsnapped on it's own. |
