I am currently looking at sling options and I keep coming back to the Vickers 2-pt. I like the padded version but for some reason there is no QD feature. Just looking for pros and cons for this. The non-padded sling has it.

I got the padded vickers a couple weeks back and I really like the sling.  I have it on a RRA tac car a4.  I am not law enforcement or anything, and will mainly use mine for hunting and plinking.  I carry a handgun when hunting so the padded vickers works well to sling the carbine and have my hands-free to use the pistol.  It is very comfortable....and since I use it for hunting the quick disconnect is not all that important for me....I recommend the Vickers to folks that are going to hunt with the AR especially if they carry a handgun too.

I bought the padded Vickers sling about more than three weeks ago and as usual excellent materials and workmanship, just like my other BFG and Vickers slings that I've been using for a couple of years now.

I would highly recommend it if you have a heavier than standard ARs or if you're carrying it for long times.

The padded Vickers slings are now available with built in (sewn in) heavy duty push button QD swivels, also these QD swivels could be installed on the standard padded Vickers slings but buying them with the swivels costs less.

The set up on my Colt does not allow for QDswivells. So I guess my next question would be is it really important to have a QD feature?

If you wear a lot of kit on your upper body, the QDs can come in pretty handly for getting out of the sling fast. If you have  multiple guns that you want to use the sling on, the QDs are great.

In my own opinion the QD feature are for added convenience in quickly removing the weapon from the body, in tight places or vehicles and also using your same sling if you have several rifles with the same QD system.

If you don't want to add QD mounts on your gun maybe get the Fastex (female) buckle sling loop strap adapter, you could either mount it at the front or at the back end of the sling your choice. You would also need the male Fastex buckle to mount on your sling.
