Anyone have one of these? If so do you like it?

I'm a little concerned about the set screw attachment on the front end? Doesn't look (in pics anyway) to be a very sturdy design.

Just looking for some imput from someone who actually has one or has experiance with one.

I use them on my duty and training carbines.  They are very stout, and come in three different types.  One is the polymer version that comes with the MIAD full kit.  One is the standard aluminum replacement piece which uses a set screw.  The last is the aluminum replacement piece that uses the same pin and a normal trigger guard, and can be folded down.

None of them are going to be a weak link, but if its a concern, go with the aluminum versions.  They are much heavier duty that the OEM part.

It's sturdy.  If you're concerned about that, don't be.  Two of my six are set up with these at this point.

I think it looks cleaner than the standard issue piece and feels a little better when you are fondling the rifle, assuming you do that kind of thing.  Aside from that, it's a six of one/half-dozen of another kind of thing.

Thanks Fellers! The pics posted are much better and my old eyes can see them good.

I really like the looks of them. SOLD!!!! I'll be getting me an alum. one.

I'm considering one also.  The OEM piece just plain sucks.  I will get the folding one just because I'd like to use the existing pins.

Well worth it. They have nice rounded edges, and are very durable. The set screw variant with a dab of loctite will work for practically everyone. Neat little part. Ten times better than the original. Also, it fills the gap. No more torn up middle fingers.
