I recently bought one of the Blue Force IDF Slings with the quick release buckle. I have the hooks attached to the bottom sling attachment on my M4 stock, and the sling attachment under the FSB. My question is this: if don't hold my AR, it will flip upside down with the pistol grip and magazine facing me. Is this supposed to be normal, or is it how the sling is mounted? I know most attachments are made with paracord on the FSB and the top slot in a M4 stock. If it is mounted that way, will it fall at a normal position? Sorry for the dumb question, I'm new at slings

Mounted like you have it YES it will flip upside down. Mounted with para cord arounf the FSB and slot of a CAR or M4 stock it will hang properly. I run IDF slings on 3 of my carbines. Mike |

What about attaching the IDF sling to an A2 stock? I've seen a few photos of it being done with paracord, but they are a bit hazy or partially blocked. I have also seen a setup with webbing and a ring, but I don't trust the ring (plastic) and it seems a bit cheesy. Any suggestions? |
A2 Sling Mount |
| I don't have any pics, but the way to attach it to an A2 stock is with a longer piece of 550 cord. you have the sling come down from the top and run the 550 cord down both sides of the stock and through the loop at the bottom where it is secured. You then use 100mph tape to secure the 550 cord to the stock. Wrap the tape around the stock several times for the best results. Make sure teh length of 550 cord is long enough so that you still have some at the top for flexibility. |
