| OK, let me first set the stage. I ordered a Pro Mag VFG from AIM just to play around with it, not for serious usage. I have a TD for that. Now, how the hell is this thing supposed to securely lock into place? I put it on and tightened down on the screw on the bottom of the grip, but it doesnt do anything. There is nothing making contact with the rail itself. Is there some trick to this? Or is it really just the piece of shit everyone has said it was? |

I have Promag VFG's on both of my AR's. One on a Oly M4A3 on a MI free floating rail and another on a LMT 10.5 upper with a YHM 2pc handguard rail. I hade a little problem with them staying tight by handtightening and after lots of shooting. But since then I took a pliers and tightened it very, very snug and they are are solid as a rock now and there is now way they are coming loose and the only way it comes off is with the pliers. But for $10 you can't go wrong with one of these, I haven't broke one yet and if I do, big deal. I use my 10.5 LMT upper on a Spikes Tactical lower with Aimpoint M2 for my LE job and I love my setup. So give it a try and then let me know what you think. |
| Update: It wasnt staying in place when hand tightened, so I tightened it real good with a big screwdriver, and yes, I am pretty happy with it. Like someone else said, you really can't go wrong for $10. If you consider it's intended purpose (non-essential item), then I say it's a great deal |
