Newbie here. Not new to forums or guns, but I am new to black rifles - my battle rifle experience pretty much stopped at the 03-A3. I just ordered a RRA LAR15 Varmint 16" (I'm in NJ and it's legal....that's why) and have a pretty good handle on most accessories, as to how I want to equip it, but I am stuck on the bipod. I have looked at current threads (several about bipods) and done a search (told you I'm not THAT new) and have found nothing about the Versapod. I looked at this in the store where I ordered my RRA and thought it was pretty slick. You can swivel and pan. The mount stays on the gun, but the bipod can be installed or removed in seconds. I know Harris seems to be the yard stick, but to not even find a mention of the Versapod (model #2) sends up a red flag on its own. What am I missing? Anyone using one of these? All input greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

I have had one for about a year and find it suits my needs well.
I leave the mount on the gun (I have the rail mount model) and use bipod when needed.

Even moving the mount from one gun to the next is real quick, as I only have the QD rail mount attached with hand strength. No tools required!

Mine also came with a standard rifle mount (which I've never used yet)

It's versatile, relatively inexpensive, and pretty solid. As I said, it works for me.

My 2 cents. Hope it helps.

I had one at one time.  Have a Harris on an ARMS mount now that I much prefer.  It is nice that the Versa tilts and pans but since there is no friction to slow or stop the movement I didn't like it.  Still thing the TB bipod will be the best of both worlds IF they ever release them.

Depends on the model you are using.I am friends with the owner of the VersaPod company and his brother and get to play with their products. They have models(mod#49,50,51&52)that have a knurled nob that allows you to adjust the "friction" and tension of the cant/tilt.

They work really well. You can set it tight enough that it is rigid or so loose that it is completely slack.

I have owned Harris stuff too.The versapod stuff is made equally well.
