I am wanting to install a better trigger system in my BM 20"  I am undecided on whether I want a 2 stage or single stage low pound. What types/brands are you using. Suggestions and recomendations appreciated.

JET,

See if you can try a few triggers out to get an idea of what they are like.  The RRA 2 stage outsells all the others, but its the one that is cheapest, so that is a factor in it as well.

Some people really like a 2 stage over a single stage, but with the POF drop in single stage arriving, and the CM single stage having been out, there are people who lean towards a nice single stage instead.

Its not the most exciting, or newest trigger on the market, but I really like my LMT 2 stage.  I've not heard of any problems, nor has John had any returns on any of the LMT 2 stage triggers.

I'm waiting on the POF single stage to try out before I make many comments, but I have good hopes that it will be a high quality unit that holds up to wear and abuse.

Go to www.jprifles.com and look at their triggers. I have 3 of the adjustable ones in my AR's and have never had a proble with them. Excellent single stage triggers. They also have a drop in assy tht is easy to install. If you understant the AR trigger, you can easily install the adjustable one yourself. They come with excellent instructions.

Has anyone got any feedback on the bushmaster?

Never used one, but the comments I've heard are that it's a poor copy of the Compass Lake trigger, which is an old design any way.  "Fragile" is the word that comes to mind.

I have two, 2 stage RRA improved match grade triggers from Adcofirearms in my AR's. Nice clean break and reset. Highly recommend. Check them out at www.adcofirearms.com A quality act company who are very reliable and customer service orienated. Let us know which trigger you purchase. There are a lot of quality ones out there to choose from. Look at the LMT 2 stage also. Good luck.

I like the looks of this trigger. I assume the
bushmaster AR15 is small pin. Is this correct?

I did not see the adjustable to 2 pound component.Did I miss it?

I am totally happy with my RRA 2 Stge.

Have liberally poured FP 10 on it, at every cleaning.

Will add KNS pins, just ´n case, but could comfortably live with this trigger "as is".

Well, after much deliberation, I ordered the RRA NM tuned by WOA from ADCO. I almost ordered the single from JP. I am going to try this in my rifle and if I decide I still want a single I will switch it to my carbine. Range report later. I appreciate everyones input.

The RRA two stage triggers work better than anything your likely to need. Never seen any first hand problems with two stages from RRA.

Tried 2 stage and a couple of single stage. Ended up with a JP single stage and really like it.

I installed the JP single stage assembly and really like it.  I'll be putting them in any future rifles I buy/build...right before the boating accident.

My RRA trigger had no creep or over-travel worth mentioning, coming from the factory, which was good.  Unforatunately, the pull weight for the first stage was about 2 lbs and the second stage was over 6 lbs.  Just too damn heavy, especially when there isn't any creep to allow you to preload the trigger right before it breaks.

Removed the pin holding the disconnector on, and started chopping down the disco spring at 1/4 of a coil at a time.  Finally got the second stage down to about 3.75.  The trigger is a dream now.

The first two stage "Match" trigger I had in an AR was the Bushmaster Match trigger. The first stage would disappear very often and while I thought I was taking up the tension on the first stage, I was really taking up the second stage. MANY unexpected discharges and points lost. The only way to make it work correctly was to make sure the engagement surfaces were well lubed with Moly-Slide. Finally, I replaced it with a Jewell. I sold the BM trigger here on the Equipment Exchange but only for the price of the Service Grade parts in it (since that is all it was worth).
