I have heard both good and bad about using these for patrol use. My PD issues 1 rifle per squad. We have had to make a few compromises as our AR's are used by anyone assigned to the squad.

The question of Mag Cinches has come up. I have heard of problems with the straps loosening, the top round on the spare mag walking forward, etc.

Any feedback, first hand experience regarding these would be appreciated. I have already asked--redi mags are a no go. Too expensive

Thanks. That mag coupler looks better. No straps to loosen

Mine has never loosened.  I was hesitant about the straps but they are rock solid.  The top round will walk forward when emptying the other mag.  I would imagine this will be true of any similar type of set up.

Mine has never loosened either.

Even stopping to flick away/push back an errant top round, it's still quicker than going to your spare mag pouch.  Also, if you can't/don't need/or it's impractical to carry mag pouches, it's better than a single mag by far.

I just push the top of the magazine against my VFG at matchs.
I don't use mag cinchs on duty, just the H&K subgun MP5 coupler is authorized issue.

YMMV,
