Did I get the right tool for the task at hand?  What do I want a sling to do?  Good question as this is really my first rifle.  So, I think I want it to hold the weapon securly to my torso without flopping around.  be able to loosen so I can actually get the weapon to my shoulder and be able to tighten up again to aid in support for an accurate shot.  Lastly, not be in the way to transition to a sidearm.  Problem is I don't have a clue about what I am trying to do in adjusting and finding a suitable mount point (points) for the darn thing.

This is really the wrong view since the GG&G sling thing is on the other side but as you can see I can mount the sling on the rear of the Vltor, on the side or rear of the Tango Down sling mount and the GG&G sling thing has been mounted right next to the upper reciever and is not about 4" out.  Any suggestions?  Seeing picts of setups that are used for duty and or training classes would be helpful.

My first thought would be that you may need to put the sling mount out farther if you are looking to wrap the sling around your arm for stability, but I can't really tell where you have ti mounted.

Secondly, if the sling isn't fit to you, you are never going to like it.  Again, from the picture we can't tell if it is set up to fit you or not.

Hopefully that makes a little sense.  Additional pictures would probably help if and when you get the chance.
