Last month I purchased a IDF sling from a company in Isreal. Well the sling took over a month to get here, I ordered a IDF sling from DSG arms and it arrived in a few days. I compared both these slings side by side and noticed a few differences. I mounted the DSG sling on my RRA tactical entry by attaching it to my rear single point mount, and my front sling swivel. The sling was well made and was sewm better than the one from Isreal also it was a little longer. The paracord on the DSG was easier to tie (Isreali cord was too stiff and would not hold a knot as well) The canvas covers on the Isreali sling was not sewn straight with the underlying plastic hook and did not "swivel". The DSG sling's plastic hook swiveled freely and was easier to use when slinging the gun on the support side shoulder. Due to the longer length I could carry the DSG sling on my support shoulder and not have to unbuckle the extra lenght to mount the weapon to my shoulder comfortably. The Isreali sling had the hearing protection pocket (works well for two cr123 batteries) sewn underneath the adjustable lenght of sling to keep it from snaging...nice touch. Also I ordered a black one and an OD model arrived but no sense in sending it back due to the wait time. In short I will be ordering another sling from DSG arms to mount on my 870. I found that the two-point sling can do just about everything that a single-point or a three-point can do but is much simpler and more comfortable. Try it and you'll like it and get the DSG one. |
